Hope Mokded est une artiste peintre vidéaste ,graveuse et performeuse féministe née à Gabés en sud de la Tunisie née en 1988 , elle a fait ses études à l’institut supérieur des Beaux-arts de Tunis en spécialité gravure et elle a continué ses recherches à l’université de Strasbourg où elle a axé ses réflexions sur la problématique de la violence invisible, qu’on pourrait définir comme une violence sociétale acceptée et sur comment, en tant qu’artiste et femme, créer une trace de cette violence afin de rendre celle-ci intelligible.
ElIe vit et travaille à Paris.Son œuvre artistique est profondément imprégnée de ses expériences en tant que femme, africaine et immigrée, conférant à ses créations une dimension cathartique saisissante. À travers son art, elle aborde des questions sociales, notamment celles liées aux migrations, aux frontières et aux problématiques de santé mentale, tout en donnant une voix aux femmes confrontées à ces réalités. Hope a exposé dans diverses galeries et institutions, collaborant même avec la Commission Européenne dans le projet Datami à Ispra, en Italie, ainsi qu’au BOZAR à Bruxelles. Ses expositions personnelles à Paris, Tunis, Nîmes et Strasbourg ont été très marquantes. De plus, ses films ont été sélectionnés dans des festivals de renommée internationale, témoignant de son talent et de son engagement. About me
Hope Mokded is a Tunisian multidisciplinary artist, born in 1988 in Gabes, a city located in the south of Tunisia. She is a painter, videographer, printmaker, and performer, whose work is deeply influenced by her experiences as a woman, an African, and an immigrant, adding a strikingly cathartic dimension to her creations. After completing her studies in printmaking at the Institute of Fine Arts in Tunis, she pursued further research at the University of Strasbourg. There, she delved into the complexities of invisible violence, societal violence that is accepted but often overlooked. As both an artist and a woman, she sought to create a tangible representation of this violence, making it intelligible through her art.
Currently residing and working in Paris, Hope’s art addresses a wide range of social issues, with a particular focus on themes related to migration, borders, and mental health. Through her creative expressions, she gives voice to women who confront these harsh realities, shedding light on their experiences and struggles. Her exhibitions have graced various galleries and institutions, and she has even collaborated with the European Commission in the Datami project in Ispra, Italy, as well as at BOZAR in Brussels. Her solo exhibitions in Paris, Tunis, Nîmes, and Strasbourg have left a profound impact on audiences. Additionally, her films have been selected for prestigious international festivals, a testament to her immense talent and dedication.
As an engaged artist, Hope Mokded actively participates in feminist festivals, crafting thought-provoking performances such as « Action Frontière, » « Santé mentale, » and « Action féminicide. » These performances are genuine total works of art, skillfully blending multiple artistic mediums, including painting, video, acting, printing, and poetry.
She is also a member of various art collectives, including Terra Rossa Lab, Curry Vavart, and Chaml.
